Look at the exam question and sample email and do the exercises to improve your writing skills.

Do the preparation exercise first. Then read the exam question and sample answer, and do the other exercises.

You have a school exam next week. You want to invite your friend Sam to your house to study together. Write an email to Sam.

  • Invite Sam to your house.
  • Tell Sam why and when to come.
  • Suggest what you and Sam can do after you finish studying.

Write about 50 words.

Hi Sam,

Would you like to come to my house on Saturday afternoon? We could revise together for the maths exam next week. After that, we could play a game or watch a film. You can stay for dinner too.

I prefer studying alone because I can focus on the lessons. When I study with my friend , we can not concentrate as we are talking other topics.

I like both. When I study alone, I can learn better, because it‘s quite and I can concentrate. When I study with my best friend, we always have to tell us things, so we can‘t learn and concentrate good. With friends, it makes more fun, but to learn alone or with my mother is better for me.

Hello everyone! I pefer to study alone. So that's why I mostly study alone. But sometimes I study with my twinsis Gwen, however I rarely study with my friends, too. Then we fancy an ice-cream or go to the cinema, mostly we have a small party at someone member's home. Study alone it's great, but sometimes it's better study with friends, too. It's more funny. :D Bye and nice to meet all of you, Rose=)

Sometimes I like studying alone, but sometimes with my classmates. If you need to share your ideas with some people, I think it is better to study with a patner.

I like studying with my classmate. Because of 2 reasons. First, I don't like studying alone because no one will talk to me, space will be unusually quiet. Second, if I studying with my classmate, something I don't know or don't understand, they can teach me and vice versa.

I prefer to study alone, becouse I am more focused on the topics that I should study, in some cases I have studied with my friends and all cases we end up talking about other topics, even once we put loud music and we did not study.
